Atema is about 30–35 minutes by car from Echigo-Yuzawa Station, beyond the mountain tunnel towards Tokamachi. Selected plans include complimentary return station transfers, reserved in advance. Our concierge can help arrange your arrival in English or Japanese.

The Atema slopes of Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort are only a few minutes away. The Museum on Echigo-Tsumari, MonET is about 20 minutes away, and James Turrell’s House of Light about 30 minutes.
For onward travel, Nozawa Onsen is around 55 minutes away and Iiyama Station, on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, around 65 minutes. Ask our concierge about arranging a separate onward transfer and its cost.
Check-in is self-service, with arrival instructions supplied in advance and concierge support available in English and Japanese.
Selected plans include return transfers from Echigo-Yuzawa; book these ahead of arrival. Taxis can be difficult to secure in winter, so arrange transport early.

Car Hire & Onward Travel
Car hire is available at Echigo-Yuzawa Station. Ask your rental company in advance about availability and one-way returns if you plan to continue to Iiyama and the Hokuriku Shinkansen.
A Suzuki Jimny is also available for guests to hire through Satoyama Jujo. There is only one vehicle, shared with the main hotel, so early reservations are recommended. Please ask our concierge for details and availability.
