Villa guests can enjoy the exclusive Satoyama Jujo Special BBQ, and Kura guests can choose from several dinner plans including hot pot and shabu-shabu. We also recommend visiting local Michelin-starred restaurants like Ryu Sushi, Shinbashi, and Miyanoya.

Introduction

Satoyama Jujo’s Special Recipe Hot Pot and shabu-shabu are recommended, and Villa guests can opt for the exclusive Satoyama Jujo Special BBQ.

Both the barbecue and hot pot, which are served with Satoyama Jujo’s specialty dishes, make for the perfect meal you can enjoy with friends and family. One repeat customer even told us that although they would like to eat Satoyama Jujo's course meal once a year, the special recipe dishes served at The House might just be a more enjoyable way to spend time with their family. Hospitality at Kiroku is handled by a group of local women. For breakfast, you can enjoy freshly cooked rice prepared according to Satoyama Jujo's recipe accompanied with dishes from the Uonuma regions. For dinner, there are also many great options if you prefer to go out. There are many restaurants nearby, serving everything from hearty pork cutlets to pizza, which is popular with the locals, as well as several that are listed in Michelin Guide Niigata.

Dinner

Enjoy Satoyama Jujo’s special recipe dinner options: Joya Nabe, Yakuzen Nabe, or exclusively for Villa guests, the Special BBQ.

Joya Nabe

This is Satoyama Jujo’s take on the joya nabe, once lauded by noted artist and gourmand Rosanjin Kitaoji as a dish you “could eat all night long and never tire of.” It is a pork shabu-shabu, but instead of boiling water, you dip the meat into Japanese sake whose alcohol has been evaporated. This is one of the most popular optional items on the Satoyama Jujo menu, and at Kiroku, you can enjoy it together with several other popular dishes.

Yakuzen Nabe

This Satoyama Jujo original recipe hot pot features an abundance of mountain tree extracts, dried wild plants, and homemade fermented seasonings. This special menu item is only available for guests of The House properties. It is a little bit spicy, so please keep this in mind if you do not like spicy food. Enjoy it together with several other popular dishes from the Satoyama Jujo menu.

BBQ (Villa only)

A Satoyama Jujo special recipe barbecue. Enjoy Tsumari Pork spare ribs marinated in rice malt and Niigata specialty Nanban Shrimp along with several other popular dishes from Satoyama Jujo. A group of local women will visit the Villa to get the fire started and prepare everything for you. The BBQ space is covered with a tarp, so you can have a barbecue even if it's rainy.
